Lesung von Meg Rosoff am Hainberg-Gymnasium

Im Rahmen der Reihe: Literatur macht Schule (Literarisches Zentrum Göttingen) kam am 14. März 2013  die Autorin Meg Rosoff, eine gebürtige Amerikanerin, die schon seit vielen Jahren in London lebt, zu uns an die Schule. Nicht nur in der englischsprachigen Welt, sondern auch in Deutschland hat die Autorin bereits etliche Preise erhalten und viele ihrer Bücher sind ins Deutsche übersetzt. Die Veranstaltung fand als deutsch-englische Lesung der Autorin und ihrer Übersetzerin Brigitte Jakobeit statt und wurde von Friedjof Küchemann (FAZ, Frankfurt) moderiert.

“Do you believe in God? But imagine God is a nineteen-year-old boy who can construct the world. Meg Rosoff’s new book “ There is no Dog” is exactly about this topic. She, her presenter and her translator presented the book in the assembly hall of the Hainberg-Gymnasium. […] My opinion is that Meg Rosoff is a very friendly and sympathetic person and she read very well ….. but the German translator read a bit monotonous and she read more German than Meg Rosoff read English passages. Sometimes it was a bit hard to understand but all in all it was okay.” (Antonia)

“You learned something about the work of a translator, that was interesting. The English version was a bit hard to understand but all in all it was okay. The presenter talked a bit too much at the beginning. But he asked the writer and her translator questions and that was good.” (Pia)

“Her answers were very personal and it was interesting and runny to listen to her. Mir hat es gut gefallen, wie Meg Rosoff und die Übersetzerin aus dem Buch vorgelesen haben. Schade fand ich, dass der Interviewer so oft „ähm“ gesagt hat...
Insgesamt war es sehr interessant. (Paula)

Meg Rosoff ist eine lustige und besondere Jugendbuchautorin, die trotz ihres Erfolgs authentisch auftritt. Ich würde das Buch „There is no DOG“ auf jeden Fall lesen, da es eine ausgefallene und verrückte Idee ist, dass ein 19 jähriger Junge Gott sein könnte. (Hannah)

Ich fand es auch sehr gut! Ich fand es sehr gut dass das Buch in beiden Sprachen vorgelesen wurde. (Zoe)

Ich fand es auch sehr interessant und leicht verständlich. Wenn man sich etwas Mühe gegeben hat, konnte man auch so gut wie alles verstehen. Den Mann, der das kommentiert hat, fand ich nicht so toll, weil er öfter mal falsches Englisch gesprochen hat und er nicht so dringend notwendig war für die Lesung. (Marlene)

Ich fand vor allem Meg Rosoff gut, da ich fand, dass sie sehr spannend vorgelesen hat und auch ihr Interview war sehr interessant und informativ. Die Übersetzerin fand ich hingegen eher langweilig, da sie sehr monoton gelesen hat und kaum betont hat. Und zu dem Buch muss ich deutlich sagen, dass der Klappentext einen besseren Eindruck als das Buch selbst macht. (Lennart)

Ich fand es auch ganz gut. Meg Rosoff ist cool und sie hat spannende Sachen erzählt. Aber es wäre besser gewesen, wenn die Übersetzerin mehr erzählt hätte. Die fand ich ehrlich gesagt ziemlich langweilig. (Ronja)

An der Lesung nahmen zwei 8. Klassen, drei 9. Klassen und ein Kurs der 11. Jahrgangsstufe teil. (Brumby-Hartogh)
